These mainly relate to building up the younger generation of the rural area with enthusiasm courage and confidence to meet the challenges of modern day life. We chose to work for the empowerment of the rural youth through supplementary activities in the realm of education and enlightenment.
Our chosen areas of work are as follows:
To scout for talented students belonging to poorer sections, who could not pursue their education and help them to continue their education.
To continuously monitor and check dropouts in the Higher Secondary Schools, Industrial Training Institutes and take all possible steps to prevent the menace. If it be due to financial constraints arrange for necessary help to such students and encourage them to continue their education.
To collect information regarding Scholarships, Stipends, Subsidies, Concessions, provided by State and Central Governments, and other Agencies and disseminate them among students and educational Institutions.
To organize and conduct career oriented training programmes for the benefit of the unemployed youth of this area and render all help to build them with confidence courage and conviction.
To collect and disseminate information in respect of the opportunities available for higher education and employment in various segments amongst the unemployed youth and render necessary assistance for their placement.

Self Esteem and Spoken English.
Competent resource persons from different places were invited to impart training. Notable among them is the team from “Nikile” Foundation lead by its founder Thiru. Nagalingam, Inspector of Central Excise Madurai.
Thiru.Kalaimuthan Head Master from Ramanathapuram who has earned a name for training rural students as mathematical wvizards imparted training to the boys in enhancing their arithmetical ability.

Rs. 10,000/= to supplement the expenses of the camp.
Public meeting to create awareness of Education.
On 22.11.2008 Saturday 6.30.P.M.
While the entire Globe is shrinking in to a Village and there is an epidemic realization that “Knowledge is power” our folks in the rural areas are in deep slumber of the yester years. Hence we organized a grand meeting to highlight the importance of Education particularly that of female children.
Janab. C.M.N. SALEEM., M.A.,
Madem. A.K. THASREEF JAHAN., M.A., M.Phil.,
Retired Principal, Meenakshi Government Arts College, Madurai.
Were the guests honour. They spoke about the importance of Education, particularly of the female children. The message was well received by the people. The programme was recorded by a team from Tamilan T.V, and was telecast in installments for two weeks.
Training for Competitive Examinations.
In tune with our objective that we should organize training classes for aspirants of this area for Competitive Examinations we scouted for aspirants in our area qualified for recruitment as Typist and Stenographer in the
Government of Tamil Nadu. But unfortunately we drew blank.
Again when the Government of Tamil Nadu advertised for TNPC examinations for Group I and II we issued pamphlets and made announcements through public address system inviting aspirants to attend free classes for the said examinations.
Again we were disappointed. Virtually there was no response. Undaunted by these negative results we continue to publicise employment opportunities through a Notice board.
On introspection and analysis for the reasons for the absence of response from the unemployed youth for our programmes we found that:
First of all ignorance about the on going recruitment processes is the first reason.
Secondly a sense of diffidence and lack of self confidence and self esteem were found to be the reasons.
Hence we have decided to enlighten the students about these opportunities right from the Higher Secondary and College levels.
Guidance to students to obtain Scholarships
We continue to disseminate information to the students regarding various Scholarships available to them. We also guide and help them to avail them.
Our Second Summer Camp
As we have done during last year we have organized a month long camp for boys during this year also. It was conducted during the month of May 2009.
Spoken English and Personality Development were the key areas of our training.
13 boys from all sections of the society attended the programme.
Personality Development and Motivational programme for students.
Our Trustees T.S.H. Musafer Abdul Rahuman and Dr. A.S. Abideen have developed a module for Personality Development and Motivation for students. As a pilot programme it was conducted for the students of Ilayangudi Melapalllivasal Girls Higher Secondary School.
The presentations were well received by the Students and Teachers. We propose to give this presentation in all the schools around this area.
Our Educatioinal Assistance Programmes.
We have just started our services. We are yet to launch our activities in a big way. However during the by gone period of a year and so we have been able to give a sum of Rs.35,100.00 as Educational Assistance to deserving students. We have ambitious plans to mobilize more funds and carry on our activities in a befitting manner. The success of our effort depends on our ability to mobilize funds. Though the need of the community is huge we estimate that sum of Rs. 3lakhs for the current year, may put us good stead to undertake some meaningful commitments.
OUR IMMEDIATE PLANS
Our immediate concern is to confine our effort to the six important items enumerated above. Amongst them we consider the following two areas as the most important and would like to concentrate our activities in these aspects.
We have also planned to conduct regular classes for “Spoken English”
The success of our effort is directly related to the availability of resources.
Our appeal to our brethren is
Have you had a kindness shown?
Pass it on.
It was not given for thee alone.
Pass it on.
Let it travel down the years,
Let it wipe another’s tears.
