Luqman a.s. Advice to his Son




The Qur'an contains ten precious advices Luqman, a.s.offered his son. Following is the list of this advice offered to Muslim parents, that they may communicate them to their children, family and members of society that they may implement them. If this valuable advise is followed and implemented, then we will all be on the straight Path leading to Paradise . Luqm⮠himself summed up in a few words the way to succeed in this life and on the Day of Judgment.



1. Luqman, a.s.warns his son against the greatest injustice man can do. Allah said that Luqman, a.s.said:

"O my son! Join not in worship others with Allah Verily, joining others in worship with Allah is a great injustice indeed." [31:13]

Luqman, a.s.calls his son: "My Son". To do so catches his son's attention so that he may listen carefully to his father . Then he calls his son's attention to Tawhid. " Shirk," Luqman, a.s.said:" Is a great injustice indeed ".


Therefore, the one who associates others with All⨠in worship does injustice to Allah the owner and Creator of the universe. A great injustice is also done to the Mushrik: he subjects himself to All⨧s anger and eternal punishment in Hell.


2. Luqm⮠reminds his son of the rights of his parents on him,

"and We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and good to his parents.. His mother bore him upon weakness and hardship" [31:14]

He describes hardships mothers face bearing children.

"And his weaning is in two years, give thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination. " [ 31:14]

Luqm⮠mentions the total dependence of infants on their mothers for two years. Thank All⨬ and then your parents. Is not, then the final destination is to All⨮

"And if they both strive with you to make you join in worship with me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly." [31:15]

Luqm⮠tells his son that if the parents are Mushrik then do not follow their way: All⨧s right comes first by far. Even so. for as long as the live, treat your Mushrik parents with kindness.


3. Luqm⮠then describes some of All⨧s Might.

"O my son! If it be equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the Heavens or the earth, All⨠will bring it forth. Verily All⨠is subtle in bringing out that grain, well aware of its place." [31:16]

All⨧s Knowledge is so perfect that the existence of anything, big or small, is acknowledged and controlled by Him. Luqm⮠tries to impress his son reminding him of All⨧s absolute control over His kingdom. Such might and power must not be challenged or ignored by anyone.


4. A great advice to Luqman's son is to establish regular prayer, on time and with the best possible performance,

"O my son! Offer prayer perfectly." [31:17]

Prayer is the direct connection between a Muslim and his Creator. Parents must take great care to teach and call upon their children to establish prayer.


5. Luqm⮠advises his son to "enjoin (people) for good, and forbid from evil." [31:17]
If every Muslim observe this duty, then evil and mischief will have no place in Muslim society.


6. After the useful advice he offered his son, Luqm⮠recommended patience in implementing them, and in all matters of life,

"And bear with patience whatever befalls you. Verily, these are some of the important commandments ordered by All⨠with no exemption." [31:17]

Patience is a righteous act ordered, and rewarded by All⨮


7. Arrogance is an attribute of All⨠alone and not for man.
The Creator and Owner of the universe is the only One who deserves to be Arrogant. All⨠threatens arrogant people with punishment in Hellfire. Luqm⮠said:

"And turn not your face away from men with pride." [31:18]


8. To be moderate is a great attitude anyone can possess,

"Nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily All⨠likes not each arrogant boaster." [31:18]

All⨠does not like that man is arrogant and proud of themselves.


9. To be moderate in walking and talking is also one of Luqman's advises to his son, "And be moderate (or show no insolence) in walking." [31:19]
Isl⭠offers a code of conduct in every aspect of life. Even the way Muslims walk and talk are regulated. Islam offers guidelines in this regard that will produce the best behavior and generate respect.


10. Luqm⮠reminds his son that being harsh while talking will liken his voice to the braying of a donkey. Shouting does not win hearts, rather, it will offend and alienate people,

"And lower your voice. Verily the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying] of an ass!!" [31:19]

Luqm⮠shows great wisdom in his advice to his son. If Muslims parents take his example, and have their children implement these advises, then by All⨧s permission our Ummah will be successful.

Every Muslim should prepare for Jum'ah from Thursday. After Asr on
Thursday one should increasingly read Istighfaar etc. That person
shall obtain the most benefit of Jum'ah who awaits it and prepares for it
from Thursday.

Rasulallah ( S.A.W. ) has said : " The best day of the week that
the sun rises on, is the day of Jum'ah." The night of Jum'ah (the night
between Thursday and Friday ) is more blessed and the day of Jum'ah is
most blessed.

Friday is the best among all days.
Friday is an Eid for the Believers.
Adam (R.A.) was created on Friday,
He was granted entrance into Jannah on Friday,
He was descend into Earth on Friday,
He died on Friday, Qiyaamah will also take place on Friday.
Amongs the seven days of the week, Friday is the day when Allah's
Special mercies are granted. It is a day of gathering for the
Muslims and rewards are increased. Many great events took place on this
day, and yet take place.

Hazrat Abu Saeed kh u dri ( R.A. ) says that the Rasulallah ( S.A.W.) has said that :
" Whoever recite Suratul-Kahf on Friday (the night between Thursday and Friday) enjoys the illumination between two Fridays." (Nasai) Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umar ( R.A. ) says that the Rasulallah ( S.A.W. ) has said that: " Whoever recites Suratul-Kahf on Friday, will enjoy
a light shining from his feet to the heaven and will have his sins forgiven committed between the two Fridays." ( Ibn Marduya ).

It is reported from Hazrat Abu Huraira ( R.A. ) that Rasulallah (
S.A.W.)has said that : " Whoever recites Suratul-Ham- Mim Dukhan on
Friday, (the night between Thursday and Friday ) enjoys the prayer of
70,000 angels for his forgiveness and gets all sins forgiven." ( Tirmizi ).
Hazrat Abdulla Bin Abbas ( R.A. ) says that Rasulallah ( S.A.W. )
has said That : " Whoever recites Suratul-Aale Imran on Friday, angels
enjoy the divine shower of salutation on him till sunset." ( Tibrani ).
Al Isbahaani reports from Ibn Abbas ( R.A. ) that Rasulallah (
S.A.W.)said : " The one who performs 2 raka'at after Maghrib on Friday
night (the night between Thursday and Friday ) and reads in every
rakaat once Suratul-Al Fatiha and Suratul Zilzaal ( Iza zul zilatil Ardhu )
15 times,Allah will ease for him the Sakaraat of Death ( the moment of
death ) and will save him from the punishment of the grave and make
easy for him the crossing of the Siraat.
Hazrat Abu Amama ( R.A. ) says that the Rasulallah ( S.A.W. ) has
said that : " The bath of Friday, pull out every sin of the man from
its root.( Tibrani ) Hazrat Abu Huraira ( R.A. ) says that the Rasulallah ( S.A.W. ) has
said that : " whoever goes out for Friday prayer after making proper
ablution and listen to the sermon quietly sitting, get all his sins
forgiven not only from one Friday to the next, but also the sins of three days
more."(Muslim ) Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masud ( R.A. ) reports that Rasulallah ( S.A.W.
) had said : " The order of sitting before Allah will be just as order of attendance on Friday. Whoever comes first in mosque on Friday will have his seat nearest to Allah, the second one will have the second seat and third one will have the third seat and fourth one will also not be very far from Allah." ( Ibn Maaja )

After the Jum'ah Salaat read as follows :
Suratul-Fatiha 7 times,
Suratul-Iklaas 7 times,
Suratul-Falaq 7 times,
Suratul-Naas 7 times.
Allah said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you."

I f you are not ashamed, send this message...only if you believe.
"Yes, I love Allah. Allah is my fountain of Life and My Saviour.
Allah keeps me going day and night. Without Allah, I am no one. But
with Allah, I can do everything. Allah is my strength."
This is a simple test. If you love Allah and you are not ashamed of
all the great things that he has done for you, send this to everyone
you know, and the person that sent it to you.

ஐ.ஏ.எஸ்., ஐ.பி.எஸ்., தேர்வு எழுத விரும்பும் மாணவர்கள் சென்னையில் இலவச பயிற்சிக்காக விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம் என்று மனிதநேய அறக்கட்டளை தலைவர் சைதை துரைசாமி அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

சென்னையில் சைதை துரைசாமி நிறுவியுள்ள மனிதநேய அறக்கட்டளை ஐ.ஏ.எஸ்., ஐ.பி.எஸ். தேர்வு எழுதும் மாணவர்களுக்காக இலவச பயிற்சி அ‌ளி‌த்து வருகிறது. இந்த பயிற்சியில் கலந்து கொள்ளும் மாணவர்களுக்கு உணவு, உறைவிடம், பாட நூல்கள், யோகா பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள், சீருடைகள், போக்குவரத்து வசதிகள் என அனை‌த்து‌ம் இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.

கட‌ந்த ஆ‌ண்டு இ‌ந்த அமை‌ப்‌பி‌ல் ஐ.ஏ.எஸ்., ஐ.பி.எஸ். தேர்வுக்கு 100 மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவசமாக பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்டது. அதில் 12 பேர் தேர்வு பெற்றுள்ளனர். இது மட்டுமல்லாமல், தமிழ்நாடு தேர்வாணையக்குழு நடத்தும் துணை மாவ‌ட்ட ஆ‌ட்‌சிய‌ர், காவ‌ல்துறை துணை சூப்பிரண்டு போன்ற குரூப்1 பணிகளுக்கான முதல்நிலை தேர்விலும் 22 மாணவர்கள் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளனர்.

கடந்த மே மாதம் இந்த மையத்தின் சார்பில் 90 மாணவர்கள் முதல் நிலை தேர்வு எழுதியுள்ளனர். இந்த தேர்வு முடிவுகள் ஆகஸ்டு மாதம் முதல் வாரத்தில் வெளியாகிறது. இவர்களுக்கான முதன்மை தேர்வு பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் ஜூலை முதல்வாரத்தில் தொடங்கப்படுகிறது.

2009ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் நடைபெற உள்ள ஐ.ஏ.எஸ்., ஐ.பி.எஸ்., முதல்நிலை தேர்வுக்காக புதிய மாணவர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, அவர்களுக்கு இந்த மையம் சார்பில் இலவச பயிற்சி தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது. இதற்காக 8 மாதம் தொடர்ந்து மாணவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்படும். இந்த இலவச பயிற்சியில் சேருவதற்கு குறைந்தபட்ச வயது 21 ஆகும். ஏதாவது ஒரு பட்டப்படிப்பை முடித்திருக்க வேண்டும். பள்ளி, கல்லூரிகளில் சிறந்து விளங்கிய கிராமப்புற மாணவர்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கப்படும்.

இந்த பயிற்சியில் சேருவதற்கான நுழைவுத்தேர்வு சென்னை, மதுரை, நாகர்கோவில், வேலூர், கரூர், ஈரோடு, திருச்சி ஆகிய இடங்களில் நடத்தப்படும்.

நேர்முகத்தேர்வு சென்னையில் நடைபெறும். இந்த நுழைவுத்தேர்வு ஜூலை மாதமும், பயிற்சியின் தொடக்கம் ஆகஸ்டு மாதமும் நடைபெறும்.

நுழைவுத்தேர்வு 2 தாள்கள் கொண்டதாக இருக்கும். முதல்தாளில் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து குறிக்கும் வினாக்களும், 2வது தாளில் கட்டுரை வடிவிலான வினாக்களும் இடம்பெறும். மொத்தம் 300 மதிப்பெண்களுக்கு வினா கொடுக்கப்படும்.

இதில் பொதுஅறிவு, இந்திய வரலாறு, புவியியல், அரசியல், பொது அறிவியல், நடப்பு நிகழ்வுகள், பொருளாதாரம், பொது ஆங்கிலம், தமிழ் இலக்கிய வரலாறு ஆகிய பாடங்களில் இருந்து வினாக்கள் கேட்கப்படும்.

பொதுவாக படுக்க போகும் முன் மக்கள் தொலைக்காட்சியின் செய்திகளை
பார்த்துவிட்டு போவது வழக்கம் என்று சொன்னால் அதுபொய். எப்போதாவது

How are you?.

I have immigrated to Sydney and living here for the past 5 months. Working here in IT field and settled well. Alhamdullilah.
Everything happened so fast that I was not able to say anyone.

I usually think about TAFAREG and still receiving mails but not actively looking into it.

I wish and pray that your groups social activities rise for the good cause of humanity and our community.

I used to fondly remember all the activities with which I participated.

Please convey my salaam to all TAFAREG members and its pity that I will no more be involved with any but still will be thinking about it and remember it.

Here there are communities like that for example Global Islamic Youth Centre (http://www.giyc.com.au) and here things are bit different.

There are many muslims here and MashaAllah mosques and we even pray at our work place.

Will be missing Ramadan and especially TAFAREG trip for Umrah during Ramdan.
