Muslim vote for Muslim League

Dear brothers and sisters,

ASSALAM ALAIKUM

I once again thank all of you for the overwhelming response and support. This report is based on the Data from study, survey and opinion polls conducted in important cities of India with extra emphasis on Tamil Nadu.

This study revealed so many facts; I am shocked, upset & angry with the attitude of our people. Except about 10-12%, our entire Ummah are living in a dream world. Despite living like dead-ducks, egos are high; living with false prestige, claiming to be big-bosses in the society, while in reality fear is killing them within.

Most of our people are selfish about their families, ignoring the community not realizing that a strong community is needed to live in peace and protected. Only those affected agree the need for a stronger representation of our community in the assembly and parliament.

Our people spend their valuable time in worthless activities. They are ignorant about the importance of keeping themselves updated with the current political events. The study reveals that 61% of the Muslims neither watch News on TV nor read newspapers. About 59% of our people watch at least one movie a day on TV and less than 10% of these watch news. About 47% do not read newspaper at all. Out of the 53% who read news paper, 63% do not read political news, instead read about cinemas, cooking, fashion, advertisement and other juicy news of murder, rape, accidents etc.

More shocking is 23% of the Muslims are not interested in politics and are not inclined to know politics. These people, when given an option, would prefer to talk and criticize leaders, pass comments on others, watch games, movies, TV serials, etc.

The business class, especially in Gujarat, feel talking about politics is a waste of time, they prefer instead to concentrate on their business. So does an executive of a Company who talks of shouldering the entire company’s responsibility.

Talking to some Muslims, especially in Tamil Nadu made me ashamed of being a Muslim from Tamil Nadu, due to their attitude and pessimism. These are the non-contributors to the society; with ego touching the ceiling with a liking to criticize others. These pessimistic people are often heard saying: “it’s a sad plight that we are not united and its impossible for us to unite, we can never unite....etc...etc...”. Such people are not only a curse to our community but also help other parties indirectly by inducing pessimisms among Muslims. Let such pessimistic people help us by keeping their opinions to themselves. Inducing pessimism among our people will not only hold them answerable to our community but also to Allah on the Day of Judgment.

There is one more category among us; who have nothing to do but criticize others working for the community. They try to find faults and talk about them. They neither come forward to suggest, correct nor help the community but first to criticize. In fact, it has become a fashion in parties and meetings to criticize others though they have never indulged in any political or community work. The more one criticizes, the more he feels of being a great scholar.

Change of opinion: The above study, survey and opinion polls were conducted during pre-Gujarat incident. A quick and short opinion poll of Post-Gujarat incident was taken and Allahamdulliah, there is a welcome change in the attitude of the Muslims. 17% agreed their womenfolk who were never interested in politics earlier, have now started following up political affairs not only in Gujarat, but all over India. 43% have realized the importance of getting involved in politics, 54% realized the need to watch news, read newspapers, follow up on the current events and the need to get involved in politics. A whopping 88% of the Muslims in Gujarat, now unanimously agree “The need for a Muslim party at all India level”. In Tamil Nadu, 69% of the Muslims are of the same opinion.

Here are some of the comments of our people:

I. In Gujarat

“Here the rich and the famous are responsible for what happened. They failed to strengthen our community despite having the means. They ignored our community and suffered the most. The normal man who lost few lakhs will recover soon, but the millionaires became beggars overnight and are doubtful if they will ever recover.”

“Most of us in Gujarat, never bothered about the party leading or ruling as long as our business was not affected. Our women were happy watching movies and serials. We were too engrossed in our business, not knowing the swords in the neighbourhood were being sharpened to slice us. We realize our mistake now.”

“Most of us did not even know the reason for being attacked. We now realize the importance of following up the political situation thro news, newspapers participating in politics etc. This could have given an idea about their plans and we could have acted in time by moving to safer place or putting up strong resistance or informing the media or the opposition party in advance. I agree it’s our mistake of ignoring politics that we are suffering today. The need for keeping updated with current events of politics is very important, which Muslims lack.”

“We are poor people and we took some active part in politics and even made financial contribution to few organizations to strengthen our community, but the rich who could afford a lot in strengthening our community ignored us, resulting in big losses for them. They now realize their mistake.”

II. Other parts of India.

“Its time we understand that a Muslim should vote for a Muslim Party rather than for a Muslim. Muslims of non-Muslim parties are as good as non-Muslims.”

“Some Muslims are so backward in politics, that they are unable to differentiate between Muslim parties and other parties, so much so they consider religious organization to be political parties.”

“What everyone should understand is, when we invest so much in properties and jewels for the sake of our children we fail to think of the method to safeguard and secure them. The best security for our investment is building a strong community – Kerala can be taken as an example.”

“My sincere appeal is to avoid worshiping Leaders. There are many Parties that are Individual based. When the leader dies, the party also dies with the leader, and the members are confused not knowing where to go or what to do, with their efforts gone to the grave with the leader.”

“Many new Muslim parties are born regularly, but I feel these new parties are made by non-Muslim parties to split the Muslim votes; so we should identify the right party to cast our valuable votes.”

“We are late, but better later than never. We have to unite now or our next generation (our children) will live like cattle without rights or protections, to the extent our children will be held by anyone, anywhere, anytime and their throats slit as done to the cattle. An example of Gujarat to some extent.”

“We are suffering, because of ourselves, we criticize all Muslim organization and parties not knowing the background, thereby misleading the public to vote for non-Muslim parties. Finally who suffers? We. We get caught in our own trap.”

“I suggest that all of us, especially our leaders bury their egos for the sake of our community and for our children and work together. All parties and organization should come under one umbrella to remove the confusion while voting.”

“We should unite and work like a family. Everyone should take interest in politics and work, everyone should be involved, if not we are the losers. There will be no use uniting later.”

“Our religion is at jeopardy. It’s our duty to protect our religion. They are trying to eliminate us. We have to act now. I appeal to our leaders to do something fast.”

“The only way is, for all of us to take interest and work. There are a few handful amongst who would not be interested; such people need not work, but I appeal to them to keep quite instead of criticizing the workers and or discouraging them.”

“They are trying to eradicate our religion, by banning the adan, introducing common civil code (ie) to marry, divorce etc. as per Hindu rites. We will soon see them restricting us going to the mosque or growing a beard. We must understand that if there is no religion Islam, there is no Muslim. Living just with a Muslim name without being able to practice religion is as good as being a non-Muslim. So we need a strong community to protect our religious rights.”

“Kerala Muslims are surviving due to their unity. In Gujarat many Muslims have still not returned back to their houses but in Kerala-Marad, after the unfortunate incident, within a month all the displaced Muslims were brought back and given compensation – this is the noticeable result of the unity of Muslim community there. We have to learn from them.”

“There are about 5-10% of Muslims who will not only discourage Muslims from uniting but indirectly support other non-Muslim parties. Do not listen to them or get carried away by their talks. No true Muslim will ever support a non-Muslim party when a Muslim party is also contesting. If he support, be sure he’s bought by them or is supporting them for his self-interest. This 5-10% can never be convinced, just ignore them and will surely be answerable on the Day-of-Judgment.”

“When just one or two IUML MPs presently in the parliament can making the life of Advani and Murali Monahar Joshi miserable, just imagine the impact it will create if there are about 10 or more IULM MPs in the parliament.”

III. In Tamil Nadu

“After partition, we were strongly represented in the assembly and parliament. In Tamil Nadu the opposition Leader was a Muslim Mr. Qaide Millat. Later, we succumbed to the plan of congress & DMK and broke into pieces and subsequently lost representation badly and started to live like 2nd class citizens. We realized our mistake and put up stages in every corner and urged the need for unity but we did not unite and our situation worsened - from that day till today we have not united and our situation is deteriorating. At present we are at the lowest stage, speaking in small groups, mosques, houses, meetings, etc.. begging everyone to unite, but still thinking twice to give up our ego. If we still do not unite now, our next meeting asking for unity will be in the grave.”

“We have to unite to show our strength. Now there is feeling of unity is among our people, its at the peak and this is best and the last chance for us to unite. If we fail now, it will be never again.”

“I am ashamed to belong to Tamil Nadu, one of the few states where Muslims are split up to the maximum extent. Leaders of other states laugh at us and applaud Congress, DMK and AIADMK in succeeding to keep the Muslims divided. We are used as an example – what a shame.”

“We are too selfish living for ourselves. What happens to our children after us? Is it not our duty to protect them? We take so much pains to get them the best spouses, build houses, give good education, but do not realize a little more pain is needed to build a strong community that will automatically act as a security system to protect all that we achieved or else the good houses, education, properties etc., will be ransacked and the very purpose of achieving all these is lost.”

“One top brass of PMK said: It pains to know such a huge community is being torn into pieces by themselves and are living like dead bodies in a mortuary, ready to be cut anytime by anyone.”

“We should learn from the example the PMK have set. They are in such small nos., yet due to their unity, they won many seats and are being represented in the assembly and parliament. They are able to achieve so much for their community by being united.”

“Allahamdulliah now, after the Gujarat incident, people have changed their stance. Everyone talks of unity and strength. I only hope our leaders take advantage of the situation now.”

“This is our last chance to unite, if we do not unite now, we are out of the frame. Everyone should understand this, not just you and few of us who are answering your questions.”

“Voting for a Hindu is better than voting for a Muslim of a non-muslim party. Such Muslims become MLAs and MPs and are used by their respective Parties to brainwash the Muslims.”

“I was always interested in unity, but my pessimistic friends kept me away for the last few years, but on seeing the situation today, I have decided to work and lend my support. The present plight of our community in India has opened by eyes.”

“I kindly request our Politicians not to start any new party. If the leader is not upto the mark, revolt against him, change him and take over the party, instead of walking out and starting a new party.”

“I feel we have to help the party financially. Unless the party is rich it cannot implement its ideas effectively. We have to help the party become rich. I would suggest all to subscribe their news paper Manichoodar which will cost us only Rs. 2 or 2.50, but will be a big contribution to the party.” I also suggest the rich business men to help by contributing.

“We should vote for a Muslim party instead of a Muslim. We voted for Muslims in Samajvadi party but they are speechless now. Do not trust anyone, many regional parties have won many constituencies with our support but have back-stabbed us. We should not have any pre-poll alliance. We should contest alone, win and then give our support as a party.

“I hope our community is united like the earlier days where, the entire Muslim community in Tamil Nadu was like one Body, under one party the (IUML) Indian Union Muslim League. A healthy body, but we have allowed it to be plucked by 3 predators – Cong, ADMK, DMK, now BJP is also trying to pick up some flesh dropped by the other 3 predators. The Party now is left only with the unpluckables (ie) the Skeleton. What can a skeleton do for our community? My appeal to our brothers is to give back a healthy life to some party of our own and strengthen our community.”

The choice of a right party and the reasons:

Dear brothers and sisters, After strict and extensive analysis about existing Muslim Organisations in Tamil Nadu, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was found to be the most capable political party for contesting elections to represent our community. Few among the many reasons for selecting IUML are described here under:

Background of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML)

IUML is established over 100 years now. It is a party that has not indulged in any corrupt activities. IUML is a party that neither has records for any terrorist activities nor supports such activities, thereby not giving a chance to the government or other parties to frame charges. IUML is running under the stipulated Indian Constitution Code of Conduct and other moral responsibilities. It is the most respected Muslim party in India. IUML was hand in hand with other parties for the welfare of our country which is still the priority of IUML but without sacrificing the welfare of the Muslims.

IUML as a party has grown from strength to strength. Its like a Banyan Tree, as it grows it becomes stronger and stronger, with off-shoots being planted in the ground to make the tree stable; One can imagine the strength when its 100 years old.

IUML is undoubtedly the most known and respected party by all the major parties of India. Many MPs and MLAs were once IUML members, hence they still have a soft corner for IUML, which helps in achieving many issues indirectly.

Background of IUML in Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu IUML was so strongly represented in the assembly that Late Qaide Millat, Mr. Moh’d Ismail was an opposition leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. IUML became victim to the well-designed plan of other parties who created turmoil within and diluted IUML party. IUML lost Muslim voters in large numbers to Congress & DMK and later to AIADMK. IUML then became a sick party and lost subsequent elections and hence lost Muslim voters base. Yet IUML is keeping up its promise in uplifting our community.

Present condition of IUML in TAMIL NADU:

In Tamil Nadu IUML is a party with the largest Muslim voter base, so supporting it and attracting other smaller parties / organization / groups towards it is much easier.

On direct and indirect probe, investigation, inspection, checking and verification, I am personally happy with the forthcoming plan of IUML. They have charted out a new and marvelous plan to revive the party, explore the possibilities of strengthening the party, rectifying the shortcoming of previous years. The plan has been implemented to stimulate the workers from its non-active position to vigorously, energetically, dynamically play active roles. The difference will soon be visible in the coming days.

The circumstance around has opened the eyes of many Muslims. 69% are of the opinion that IUML should be invigorated and recharged. On learning IUML’s brisk and energetic rejuvenation and recovery, many are joining IUML in large numbers. Now the party is headed by a resurgence leader Prof. Khader Moideen who has taken up the role with a pledge to work for the Muslim community’s welfare and has invited everyone especially the youths to join IUML and share the responsibilities and help in attaining our goal in safeguarding our community from losing our constitutional and religious rights.

Attempts to unite many small parties and organization into IUML have started and have succeeded with majority joining IUML. Though one or two parities are eager to join IUML but are keeping away due to their ego, but efforts are still underway and will inshallah unite.

The IUML President Prof. Khader Moideen’s strong passion for making IUML stronger has brought many Muslim starlets back into the party. An open invitation is made calling all Muslims to join IUML to form the backbone of the party. These efforts are to secure a number of MLAs and MPs under IUML to voice our concern at all levels of political forum and to retain our rights of better life style – living freely, fairly, constitutionally, democratically, Justly and Islamically.

The new dynamic rejuvenation plan has seen many youths volunteering and taking up many important responsibilities to work in uniting Muslims not only in Tamil Nadu but in ever corner where Tamilians live. The final objective of all this enthusiastic hard work is to strengthen IUML, win representatives and safeguard our community.

Unlike other party, Muslims League does not belong to any individual; it’s the party of our community. Anyone who is capable can come and take over the leadership. The point that impressed me is the invitation to all individuals, organization or parties to join IUML and take over the reins if they have the support and means. IUML has a system and a set format to be a Leader and to lead the IUML party. Anyone fulfilling the criteria and wining the set formatted system can become a leader. It could be you or me.

I have found IUML to be an everlasting party and does not die with the leader. “Men may come and men may go but I go on forever” is what IUML is all about.

I understand that IUML is developing a website of its own to keep our community updated of its action and future plans. This website will not only help IUML to be in touch with its cadres but will also receive questions and suggestion from the public.

IUML is the only Muslim Party, which the Congress, BJP and other regional parties are panicky and worried about. They are keeping a close watch on IUML’s sudden growth and are disturbed & shaken by the current growth and brisk activities of IUML. They are anxious to know the reason of this sudden change in the attitude of Muslims and IUML.

It’s an appeal that a Muslim votes for a Muslim of Muslim Party rather than a Muslim of other party. The usual slogan of “Muslim vote for a Muslim” should change to “Muslim vote for Muslim League”. Support to other friendly party should be given only in constituency where IUML does not contest.

I am of the opinion that there is no other better alternative than IUML to tackle our problems with the highest forum. There is only one Political party for the Muslims at all India level and that’s IUML.

Hence, I have decided to join hands with IUML to strengthen the party and work for our community. I plead all of you to join and help IUML in the massive aim to promote this party toward achieving welfare of our community.

This is my humble submission and sure you would agree with me. Appreciate to receive your feed-back, opinions, suggestions etc.

Jazakallah and wassalam
